When I was in high school, my mom took me to see Ordinary People in the theater. I was entranced by how a therapist could help someone in their time of need, even when they were initially resistant to it. That set me on a path of pursuing psychology as a career. After five years in community mental health, I started Southeast Psych in Charlotte over twenty years ago and it’s grown to three locations in two states with over 45 therapists.
I moved to Nashville in 2016 to help open our new office. I fell in love with the city, so I’m here permanently. Southeast Psych Nashville has become one of the most innovative practices in the country with an amazing team of clinicians. My specialty is working with young adult guys (16-29 years old) to help them enhance their lives.
I work with college students, grad students, young professionals, and guys who are trying to move ahead. Whether it’s managing negative emotions like anxiety or depression or anger, developing an action plan for life, controlling drinking or substance use, improving confidence and self-esteem, or performing better at work or school, I’d love to help.
I see many athletes (high school, collegiate, and pro) and artists (musicians, actors, and others) who want help dealing with the unique challenges of their field.
I love my job and consider it an honor and a privilege to do it. I’m grateful for every day I get to go to work.
I’m licensed in TN and NC, but I’m also approved by PsyPact, an interstate compact between states, to practice tele-therapy in AL, AR*, AZ, CO, DE, DC, GA, IL, KS*, KY, MD, ME*, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, OH, OK, PA, TX, UT, VA, and WV (*=upon effective date in that state.
